Weather forecast
On average, from April through September, Bornholm enjoys more hours of sunshine than the rest of the country. The reason for this is that fewer clouds form over Bornholm because the small island is surrounded by a large ocean.
So, it is with good reason Bornholm is called the sunshine island. Especially the months of May, June, July, and August enjoy more sunshine than the rest of Denmark. The summers even last longer. Autumn arrives 14 days later than in the rest of the country. Likewise, spring arrives 14 days later, however.
On average, Bornholm enjoys 1580 hours of sunshine in a year compared to 1475 hours for the rest of the country. That means 6,4% more hours of sunshine on Bornholm.
You can get an impression of the ratio in the graphic below and left. Solskinstimer means sunshine hours. I dag means today and I nat means tonight. 5 døgn means 5 day forecast.
