Hammer Harbour is beautifully located with splendid views of Hammershus Castle Ruins.

The harbour can be entered whatever the wind conditions. The harbour has WCs, telephone, showers and a kiosk.

In the summer months private boat trips depart from Hammer Harbour on daily sightseeing tours along the coast. Leading lights provide a bearing in bad visibility. Power and water on the quays for use by pleasure craft.

In calm weather the light surface current in the Baltic flows towards the Sound and the Great and Small Belts, which is WSW at Bornholm. In windy weather the current normally follows the wind direction, but totally unpredictable deviations can occur and create difficulties in several places (Hammer Harbour).
