Rønne-Almindingen-Gudhjem
Cykeltur mellem Rønne, Almindingen og GudhjemLeaving Rønne, you follow the former Rønne-Nexø railway line to Robbedale.
After Vestermarie you cycle into Almindingen, the fifth largest forest in Denmark. It was formerly common grazing land for cattle, but in 1800 it was enclosed and brought under cultivation by Hans Rømer, the forest supervisor. From the tower at Rytterknægten there is a panorama of the entire island.
Østerlars Round Church was built in the 12th century and is the largest of the island's four round churches. A little further on you enter the Kobbeå Valley, which with Stavehøl waterfall is one of the island's fascinating fault valleys.
Gudhjem is ahead, situated like a mountain town on the rocky prominence and running down to the harbour. The town has museums, restaurants and smokehouses, as well as a ferry service to the island of Christiansø.
