There are many ways to experience Bornholm, but from a bicycle saddle the view is perfect!

The small size of Bornholm makes it easy to explore the delicious Bornholm larder. Explore the 235 km of varied routes and visit the many food producers, who all make delicacies of high quality.

A suggestion for an exciting ride could be our Gourmet Route between Gudhjem-Østermarie-Svaneke.

If you choose to visit all the producers the route is around 24 km in total, but of course you can choose only to visit a few of them – you and your stomach decide!

You will also find distances between each producer and not uninteresting - even the number of consumed calories.

There is something for both your sense of taste and sight, and even your fitness.

NB! Be aware that the street Brøddegade in Gudhjem is very steep towards the harbor, and therefore it is forbidden to ride a bike - down. But just try upwards!

Gudhjem Mølle (Mill)
At Møllebakken in Gudhjem you have the possibility to visit the mill of Gudhjem.
The beautiful premises appears as a shop, a café, and a show room where more than 126 different Bornholm products are being sold and presented.

Karamel Kompagniet
Denmark's first toffee factory. Soft, delicious toffee is made here according to an old English recipe, just like in days of yore. Visitors to the shop can watch the toffee-makers put their heart and soul into every toffee they make.

Gudhjem Røgeri (Smokehouse)
The smokehouse of Gudhjem combines eatery and shop. Smoked herrings are a Bornholm speciality, and don't miss "Sun above Gudhjem": a smoked herring served with a raw egg yolk, radishes, chives and whole-grained rye bread. But Bornholm's wild salmon, cod, halibut, mackerel, eel, trout, prawns and other smoked foods are definitely well worth tasting too.

Hallegård Gårdbutik (farm shop) has a long tradition for good ingredients and tested Bornholm recipes. The farm shop produces good sausages without preservatives and artificial additives.

Den Gamle Skole, Honey specialities
Den Gamle Skole is a family company with bee-keeping and honey production as their speciality. The company was established in an old school from 1856 situated between Østermarie and Svaneke. The honey from Den Gamle Skole is treated with care and with a few exeptions without heat, which preserve the aroma, minerals and tracers from flowers and pollen of the honey. The honey is handled and stirred by hand.

Bryghuset i Svaneke (Brewery)
Bryghuset in Svaneke has become a "world-famous" micro brewery in Denmark by winning the Beer of the Year award in 2003 and being lauded for its delicious beers in many tasting contests. Come by to see the large copper boiler (1000 litres) where hops, malt and water are transformed into a golden brew.
Bryghuset offers guided tours with tasting sessions, as well as a restaurant.
