Disabled cycling

Bornholm's excellent network of cycle paths, often well away from traffic, makes the island especially suitable for anyone who needs a stabiliser or assistant.
You often see blind people and their assistants on tandems, senior citizens from retirement homes on tricycles and people with disabilities riding round Bornholm's countryside.
Cycling is an excellent solution for people with physical disabilities, as there are now bikes to suit anyone who has reduced mobility or uses a wheelchair.
On the 3rd of September 2011 people with disabilities from all over the world gather for the big annual cycle race "Handicap Tour de Bornholm", which is great fun for participants, assistants and the many spectators alike.
